Harold Corr Reserve, Australia

A smart, Australian-made track marks a first for Penrith

Rekortan was chosen to deliver the first ever synthetic athletics track for the Penrith area at the Harold Corr Reserve athletics track facility in Cambridge Park, New South Wales. Manufactured in our ISO 9001 certified facility in Dandenong South, Victoria, our Australian-made Rekortan M track system was chosen for its athletics performance credentials and optimisation for the harsh Australian climate.

A smarter track decision

The system was given the added benefit of our exclusive SMART track diagnostics technology which measures athletes’ real time results for runs to an unprecedented level of detail. It measures top speeds, when top speed was reached, how long it was maintained, momentum, starting body position, flight time (the time the athlete is in the air) and taps (the amount of time and speed of the athlete’s feet on the ground.) The tech, which is embedded into the track removes the rick of human error or external conditions impacting athlete data and gives a completely new level of performance insight.

An experienced, full-service team

Our in-house design, engineering and construction team were meticulous in ensuring ground levels and drainage systems functioned effectively. By conducting stormwater drainage works to capture the athletics track rainfall runoff and connection to the surrounding existing drainage outfalls we protected the facility from drainage issues and potential flooding.

A boost for home-grown athletes, sport participation and the local economy

The new track facility services four local clubs and as the first synthetic athletic track for the Penrith City Council area it has boosted both sport participation and the local economy through the hosting of regional, state and school events.

For too long our best athletes have had to go outside of our community to reach their potential – to get access to the best facilities, the best coaches – now those athletes are going to stay here or even come here.
